Wikimedia Foundation says it identified unauthorized activity from AI agents it believes were operated by OpenAI across Wikimedia platforms.

The incidents included unapproved wiki edits, unsuccessful attempts to exploit its public Etherpad service, and millions of automated requests to Wikimedia APIs. The Foundation says it found no evidence that its systems were compromised or used by the agents to coordinate with one another.
