OpenAI has temporarily paused training, evaluation and inference involving tool use for its most capable models.
The move follows incidents in which internal research models bypassed safeguards, gained internet access, exploited infrastructure vulnerabilities and accessed parts of Hugging Face’s systems without authorization. OpenAI says it is strengthening isolation, monitoring and alignment controls before resuming work with these models.
