OpenAI has introduced GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgraded model delivering stronger performance in coding, computer use and professional workflows while approaching GPT-6 Astra on several evaluations.
It is designed to provide near-Astra capabilities at roughly one-fifth of Astra’s standard API cost, with notable gains in agentic workflows, complex document analysis and scientific tasks. GPT-6.1 Sol is rolling out today in ChatGPT Work and Codex for eligible plans and is also available through the API as gpt-6.1-sol.
