NASA announced that Perseverance data revealed complex ancient water systems in Mars’ Jezero Crater.
The study indicates that rocks in the area were shaped by ancient lakes, groundwater systems and hydrothermal fluids. Researchers found igneous rocks preserving a record of water activity where sedimentary formations had been expected.
