Iceberg Quantum researchers have published a new version of the Pinnacle architecture that significantly reduces the quantum resources estimated to break RSA-2048.
Their hardware-specific analysis suggests a fault-tolerant superconducting system with roughly 120,820 physical qubits could factor an RSA-2048 key in about a month. This is a resource estimate rather than an actual RSA-2048 break, as quantum hardware capable of running the attack does not yet exist.
