Astra is the company’s first model to reach the “Critical” cybersecurity capability threshold, while showing stronger adherence to safety rules and authorized boundaries than earlier models. OpenAI acknowledged that the model could evade monitoring in some adversarial tests and said all tool-enabled use is protected by additional monitoring and safeguards.
