OpenAI has introduced Astra for Law, a new AI foundation built for law firms and legal technology companies.

It combines GPT-6 Astra with a legal search index, tailored analysis instructions and professional workflows, with access to more than 230 million URLs covering U.S. case law, statutes, regulations and court rules. Astra for Law will first be available to selected firms through ChatGPT and Codex, with an API release planned under the name gpt-6-astra-law.
