Nissan and Honda have agreed to jointly develop core electronic control units and software for their next-generation software-defined vehicles.

The companies will standardize in-vehicle operating systems, middleware, and vehicle-control software to reduce development costs and accelerate innovation. The shared technology is expected to appear in next-generation vehicles from both brands starting in fiscal 2029.
